Newest Release!

Like any good country-folk musician, Daniel Crabtree is a keen observer of the world around him. While his songs tend toward a timelessness that is broader than current issues, his latest album does include a few songs that capture certain moments in history. The songcraft here, as with all of Daniel’s catalogue, is the centerpiece, but everything works to near-perfection—from the production to the players. It’s an album bound to receive plenty of acclaim - Alan Cackett, Music Blogger and Reviewer

REVIEW “STORMS ON THE OCEAN”

As if providing proof, the players—Scott Vestal (banjo, background vocals), Cody Kilby (guitar), Jason Carter (fiddle), Jesse Brock (mandolin), Harry Clark (mandolin), Patrick McAvinue (fiddle), Jeff Partin (Dobro), Gaven Largent (Dobro), Mike Bub (upright bass), Evan Winsor (upright bass) alongside backing vocalists (Don Rigsby, Donna Ulisse and Rick Stanley)— make no attempt to stray from the traditional bluegrass imprint or arrangement. There’s far more wood than steel at work here, with absolutely no embellishment added. As a result, the music comes across precisely like it was originally meant to be performed, complete with homespun harmonies, and the precise picking as originally applied.

LARRY SPARKS - KEEPIN IT REAL

Cold Harbor

“In the song, I tried to imagine some semblance of what it must have been like. The final victory was won by Lee’s army during the war. The Union army lost ten to thirteen thousand men over twelve days. I penned these words to commemorate the battle and the lives lost during our history. Let us not forget the price that’s been paid so that we might live as one nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all.”
